Please note that by participating to this trip you will only be able to attend Thursday sessions of the 1st EU Environmental Research Infrastructures–Industry Joint Innovation Partnering Forum.

Located at 2100 meters above the sea-level at the Lautaret pass, the Alpine Station Joseph Fourier (SAJF) consists of the Botanical Garden (with a scenic rock garden, a unique collection of world alpine plants, ecological and ethnobotanical rockeries), infrastructures for research on Socio-ecological dynamics of landscapes; Global change and ecosystems functioning and Evolutionary ecology of alpine organisms, as well as also infrastructures devoted to sharing knowledge with activities such as: summer and winter schools, training and educational projects, actions towards tourism and outreach. The station hosts also a technological platform, dedicated to sensors tests and experimental new technologies. In 2017,  ENVRIplus uses the platform for testing power supply innovative systems in mountain conditions.

Infrastructure for Analysis and Experimentation on Ecosystems (AnaEE) is a research infrastructure dedicated to the experimental manipulation of managed and unmanaged terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.
Long Term Ecological Research Network (LTER) provides the scientific expertise, research platforms, and long-term datasets necessary to document and analyze environmental change.

Visit Schedule:

Thu 18th May
4.30 pm: Departure from Grenoble by bus
6.30 pm: Arrival at Lautaret Pass
7 pm: Welcome drinks
* Dinner and accommodation arranged at the Hôtel des Glaciers

Fri 19th May
8.15 am: Outline of research facilities and research axes at the Alpine Field Research Station (SAJF)
8.30 am: Visit of the SAJF infrastructures (including Galerie de l’Alpe, research infrastructures, Botanical Garden)
9.30 am: Field trip to the nearby flux tower and experimental sites (20 min easy walking)
11 am: Brunch in natura
11.30 am: Departure to GrenobleDSCF1418
13.45 pm: Arrival at Grenoble train station (shuttle to Lyon St Exupery airport – departing at 2 pm, arriving at 3 pm / train to Paris – departing at 2.20 pm).

More details:
For logistic reasons, number of persons is limited to 70.
Transportation and meals are included. Accomodation price is 80 euros including breakfast.
Please do NOT book accommodation directly through the Hotel les Glaciers website as your booking will be done through your registration.
Also, please make sure NOT to book accommodation in Grenoble for the night of the 18th May, to avoid double charges.
